First Aid Work Training is changing.

According to HSE, all First Aid Work training Qualifications should be accompanied by training on the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) as soon as December 31st, 2016.

This comes from guidelines published in 2015 by the Resuscitation Council UK, which now state that first aiders who are managing a casualty requiring CPR, an AED should be requested.

The early use of an AED is vital in the effective resuscitation of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) victim. Chances of surviving a SCA without an AED are minimal, which makes this a welcomed new change to the curriculum.
