When you’re in the market for picking up a new car for your business, it’s important to make sure that you get the perfect vehicle for the job. But, that can be trickier than it sounds as the cost of purchasing a brand new car can be extremely high; which is why leasing can be an excellent alternative.
Leasing, or contract hire, is a long term rental agreement which works out as a much more cost effective way of giving you or your employees the car that is the best fit for the job, without paying the purchase price of a brand new vehicle.
Here is how it works:
- Get in touch with your requirements and how long you would like to lease a car for.
- We will get back to you with our best quote based on the amount of miles you want to cover.
- At this point you can choose to add a maintenance plan, which is optional but it does make things a lot easier in case anything goes wrong.
- We deliver your new car straight to your door, for no extra charge.
- A deposit is required 7-14 days after the delivery of your lovely new car and your monthly repayments will commence from then.
- At the end of your contract we pick the vehicle up free of charge.
Our service really is that simple, with no catches or hidden fees.
We will provide you with full detailed terms and conditions before asking you to sign any agreement. We only work alongside companies with nothing short of an exceptional reputation for customer service; you can rest assured that you’re in safe hands.
Before you contact us, we might have some of your questions covered below:
Q. Is leasing subject to VAT?
A. Yes, but in some cases business are entitled to claim a portion (or all) of the VAT on the finance element of the rentals and up to 100% of the maintenance element. Speak to your accountant to confirm what you may be able to reclaim.
Q. How do you calculate the monthly rental?
A. It is based on the following:
- The type of car – the more expensive the car, the more expensive the lease is
- Contract term – generally, a longer contract term means a lower monthly payment
- Annual mileage – the more miles you do, the more you will need to pay
- Whether or not you have chosen to add a maintenance package
Q. Do I need to pay an initial deposit?
A. Yes, the market norm is to operate on the basis of 3 months payments in advance, you can also choose to pay 6 months in advance if you prefer. If that doesn't suit, there are more options available, give us a call for more information.
Q. Can I part-exchange a current car as part of the deposit?
A. Yes, not many of our competitors do though, which gives you even more reasons to choose us for your lease!
Q. Does my lease include insurance?
A. It doesn’t – you will need to arrange this separately.
Q. What happens if I exceed my stated annual mileage?
A. You will receive a PPM or “Pence per Mile” charge, it is much better to avoid this if you can. You can call us to re-negotiate your annual mileage limit and in turn, your monthly payments at any time during your contract to make sure this doesn’t happen.
Q. How do you supply the vehicle?
A. We deliver it to your door, free of charge, through a trusted UK dealer network.
Q. Does the contract include Road Fund License?
A. Initially, yes. However the duration depends on the details of your contract.
Q. Does the vehicle include a warranty?
A. As the vehicles we supply are all brand new (No more than delivery mileage) they all come with full UK manufactures warranty. For the most part this is 3 years, but some manufacturers offer 5 or 7.
Q. What happens if the car needs service or maintenance work?
A. If you have added the maintenance option to your contract, all you need to do is get in touch on your dedicated number and it will all be taken care of for you. If you haven’t chosen maintenance – it must be arranged at your own discretion.
Q. Is roadside assistance included?
A. Yes – either 12 months or 3 years breakdown recovery depending on the manufacturer of your car.
Q. What happens if I need to end the lease early?
A. You can do it, but there is a fee involved – usually calculated on the basis of half of the remaining rentals.
We took a trip out to see one of our recent customers to find out how they found their car leasing experiences. We like to be impartial, so we made sure to get both the positives and the negatives of the process.
Why did you choose to lease?
I didn’t have the capital available to get the car that I wanted and keeping my monthly payments as low as possible was really important to me. Leasing my car, but only from a reputable dealer, was the best option for me at the time bearing my current financial situation in mind.
How did you find the leasing process?
Straightforward, I had confirmation on the same day that I made my enquiry and had the keys in my hand the next day. It was really convenient, much more so than it would be with taking out a loan or some of the other options which were available to me.
I’d recommend it to anyone.
Did you have any reservations?
Yes, I did, there were 2 main worries that I had.
I was worried about the depreciation of my car and how if I had an accident, my insurance company might not pay out the full value of the car, which would mean that I would need to pay the money back to you, which was something I definitely don’t want to do. But I managed to get myself a reasonable gap insurance policy so I don’t have to worry about that.
Also – I wasn’t particularly fond of the idea of tying myself into a contract for the full period of the lease, which is 3 years in my case, it’s a long time to be giving money out every month for. But I’m confident I’ll be able to afford it going forward so it was still the best option on the table.
How did you find the service?
I can be a bit of a tough customer at times, so I don’t envy the people on the other end of the phone! But I have to give them credit, they handled all of my queries professionally, they knew the answers to everything I asked and helped me pick out the best car for me.
I have absolutely no complaints.
What didn’t you like about the process?
Well, as I said, I don’t like being tied into a contract for a long time so that was something I didn’t like. It would have been better for me to have the car delivered to my house quicker than they would have offered. I wanted to get behind the wheel straight away – but they did deliver it to my house, so I don’t have too many complaints all in all.
