Legionella Risk Assessment - The Process
We understand that if you are having the first legionella risk assessment on your property, you may be a little uncertain about what it entails. So here is a quick break down of how the assessment will work:
Your preparation
Please ensure you have your asset register and any previous years’ assessments to hand. If this is your first legionella test and you DON’T have a register, one should be completed. An asset register is a list of all assets within the water system. Legionella control measures can’t be put in place without an accurate register.
The assessment
The assessor will use your asset register to ensure they are checking everything on your property that uses water. This is important because if one asset is missed, it could deem the assessment void. They will work through their legionella risk assessment check list and ensure you get a complete picture of risk.
Continue your day as normal
Don’t worry about us getting in the way. Our assessor’s objective will always be to work around your current workflow, with a minimum level of intrusiveness.
Aftercare
Once the legionella risk assessment is complete, you will get a written record of the level of risk within your property. This will allow you to understand how you can improve water safety on your premises.
