At Direct365 we have fostered excellent working relationships with some of the most innovative suppliers in the UK. This week we visited one of our partners, Vow, to view their impressive warehouse and witness the cutting edge ‘Zero Defect’ technology, that processes your orders, in action for ourselves.
The ‘Zero Defect’ system uses dozens of laser scanners to automatically detect the correct items for each order, making the conveyor belt lines at Vow incredible fast, efficient and on-time. The machines are able to process up to 12 different complete orders in around 2 minutes. To put this into perspective: in an 8 hour day at the Vow warehouse, it would be possible to pump out close to 5800 items, at full capacity, ready for sending out to customers!
So, it is through pin-point efficiency and clever machinery that we are able to get our products out to you, our customers, in such a timely manner.
Fun Fact: Laying out all of the conveyor belts at Vow from end to end would make a 12km long track!
Once the products are sorted, scanned and packaged, they are then vacuum packed in specialised wrapping machines, which make them incredibly durable without actually damaging the product. After this, they are ready to be transported.
