ADAPTIV biphasic technology is used to analyse the patient’s condition, in order for the unit to automatically adjust the power of the shock to be delivered. To deliver the shock a clearly indicated button must be pressed by the user.
Default energy delivery protocol is set at 200J, 200J, 360J but this can be changed to between 150 and 360 J. Fully charged, the in-built re-chargeable lithium battery can deliver 30 shocks and up to 210 minutes of “on time”.
With space to store up to 20 minutes of ECG and 200 time-stamped event markers, a motion sensor and capabilities for wireless transference of data to a PC for review using a Medtronics event review software packages, the Lifepak includes everything you need to deliver fast effective aid in an emergency.
*Approximately 70% of UK ambulance teams carry Lifepak devices, with the North West and London teams carrying only Lifepak. This allows them to simply unplug the pads from the Lifepak CR Plus Defib and plug it straight into their own more advanced Lifepak device if they attend a cardiac arrest.
Voice prompts, pre-connected electrode pads, and clear indication lights guide the user through the steps towards administering the shock.
